Application of Digital image correlation in cycling loading
DIC is an optical method that employs tracking and image registration techniques for accurate 2D and 3D measurements of changes in images. This method is often used to measure full-field displacement and strains, and it is widely applied in many areas of science and engineering. [1]
This new testing procedure can help to obtain more information. We used this method in our stress-control tests (Cyclic loading with mean stress). We extracted strain in the curved part of the dog-bone specimen. This technology helped us to obtain several data simultaneously from a single test and that’s great!
